Does ThunderHawk support proxy authenication?

Yes, ThunderHawk supports both “Basic” and “NTLM” proxy authentication.

If your network has a proxy server, a dialog box pops up when you first run ThunderHawk with text entry boxes for your username, password, and (for NTLM authentication) your domain name. After you enter this login information required by your proxy server, you can use ThunderHawk.

ThunderHawk chooses the most secure authentication method available from the proxy server, most of the time this is NTLM. If NTLM is not available it uses Basic authentication. If ThunderHawk can get the username, password, and domain name from your device, it does so and fills out these text fields from your device settings. Otherwise, you must supply this information. ThunderHawk writes the proxy information to a secure file on the client so that you don't have to re-enter it every time you use ThunderHawk.

Does ThunderHawk support Java?

ThunderHawk version 2.1 and up for the Pocket PC supports Java version 1.5.0_01.

ThunderHawk for the SmartPhone does not support Java.

On ThunderHawk for Pocket PC, applets may take several seconds to load, and are displayed in gray boxes. To bring up the keypad for usage outside of the applet, tap and hold the stylus on an area of the screen outside the applet. For usage inside the applet (for example, to type in text in a Java application), tap and hold the stylus on an area of the screen within the applet.

There are some limitations:

  • ThunderHawk does not support mouse drag (for example, clicking and dragging a slider tool).
  • ThunderHawk Java supports screen output drawn only with the paint() or update() methods. So if the Java applet doesn't appear to work, it is probably drawing to the screen using a non-standard method.
